Sumera Khan is a practicing visual artist, urban sketcher, arts educator, and active community member based in Katarokwi/Kingston. As a BIPOC artist and caregiver to individuals with invisible disabilities, she brings a strong commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and community-building through the arts. Her work centers on storytelling, memory, and identity, often rooted in themes of caregiving and domestic space.

Sumera has been deeply engaged with the local arts community through her presence at the Tett Centre’s Creativity Studio Space, participation in exhibitions, curatorial and jury roles, and the 2024 Twofold Residency with Union Gallery and Modern Fuel. She is the founder of the Urban Sketchers Hub, a Facebook group that gathers regularly to sketch together at local spots around Kingston.

She is well known for leading creative programs at the Tett Centre, Art Noise, and the Kingston Senior Centre. In 2024, she was awarded multiple grants by the Ontario Arts Council. Through her work, Sumera remains committed to connecting people through the meaningful stories embedded in everyday life.
